It's almost 4 weeks that we have been here in Canada. School has started and i'm busy natural dyeing and sewing. Adjusting has been tough for me, but i'm doing my best to see the beauty in small things. Picking the children up from school, dyeing and sewing are things that I look forward to. I signed in for a ceramic workshop and I can't wait to share the things I make with you.
I have been dyeing with wild grapes that we find in the backyard of our rental home. It's such a beautiful fruit to dye with because the colour comes off so strong. The colour you get in the pan is purple and the fabric that comes out is purple. But once washed it is blue.
Grape skins, seeds and stems contain a lot of tannins and this makes the colour last longer.
Let me know if you ever used grapes to dye fabric!
